Beeswax (Cera Alba) is a glandular excretion product from bees. Beeswax has one of the lowest melting points of natural waxes 61 - 68 oC, and is less hard than the other waxes which make the lipstick smooth and pleasant to apply. Used in formulations for lipsticks, lip balms, balms, creams, eye and lip pencils.
Candelilla wax (Euphorbia antisyphilitica) a natural plant wax extracted from the leaves of the candelilla plant, with a melting point 69 - 73 oC, It is important to purchase double refined as this has a very low rosin content (often the cause of grainy deposits when heated to high temperatures).
Used in formulations, for thickening and/or hardening products, including make-up & lipstick formulas, balms, lip treatments and salves and lotion bars etc.

Carnauba wax (Copernicia cerifera) a natural plant wax exuded by the leaves of the Brazilian palm tree. In hot, dry weather, the palm secretes wax to protect its leaves from damage. To collect the wax, the leaves are dried and then beaten to dislodge the yellowish to brown waxy coating, which usually flakes off. Carnauba is the hardest natural wax available, providing hardness and rigidity to lipsticks, lip and eye pencils.
Castor oil (Ricinus communis) comes from the castor oil plant and is the oil most often used in lipsticks and lip glosses. It gives a nice shine, helps to disperse the pigments
Rice Powder - From 1500 BC Chinese women have used rice in their cosmetics. In the first millennium, AD women in the Far East covered their faces with a powder derived from rice flour to make their complexions appear white as porcelain. In Japan, both men and women commonly applied this type of face powder as a sign aristocracy and a symbol of pure internal beauty.
Rice powder has a moisturising effect on the skin and provides the skin with a natural matt shimmer as found with a normal non-greasy skin. This is a notable advantage for powder make-up, as the transition between the powdered and the non-powdered skin remains invisible. Rice powder also leaves a pleasant and silky-touch to the skin.
Our Rice Powder is kosher grade from NATURAL, RENEWABLE RAW SOURCES and certified GMO free.

Oxides are non-toxic, naturally occurring from irons such as hematite. In nature they are often combined with harmful metals such as lead, and mercury, so they have to be processed and refined before they can be used in cosmetics. They are used in practically in all mineral makeup. The colours come in many different shades with the most common ones being; yellow, red, brown and black.

Ultramarine Blue was made in the past by grinding down the semi-precious stone, lapis lazuli. For cosmetic manufacture, however, nowadays ultramarine blue is manufactured in the lab.
